The Origin of Chunk of Magic

Chunk of Magic began as an exploration of memory, transformation, and the stories carried by everyday objects. What started as functional art evolved into sculptural assemblages built from reclaimed materials, personal histories, and imagination.

The Evolution of an Artist

The earliest pieces began as experiments with forgotten objects that couldn't be thrown away. Flea markets, estate sales, vintage artifacts, discarded electronics, and childhood treasures became the raw materials for an artistic practice built on transformation.

Over time, the focus gradually shifted. Rather than creating objects defined by their function, Emmanuel became increasingly interested in the stories hidden within the materials themselves. Vintage toys, mechanical parts, forgotten keepsakes, and reclaimed objects began to take on new meaning.

That evolution naturally led to assemblage sculpture—works built not only from reclaimed materials, but from memory, imagination, and the emotional connections people carry with the objects that shape their lives.

Objects Carry Memory

Every reclaimed object carries traces of a previous life — marks, textures, histories, and emotional residue that often go unnoticed. Through assemblage, those fragments are given a new context and a new voice.

Chunk of Magic is rooted in the belief that memory can exist inside materials. By transforming overlooked objects into sculptural works, the familiar becomes unexpected, and forgotten pieces of life are allowed to continue evolving.

Engineering Meets Imagination

Influenced by a background in engineering and fabrication, the work behind Chunk of Magic balances structure with experimentation. Each assemblage is carefully constructed through layering, problem-solving, and an evolving relationship between materials.

Precision and imagination exist side by side throughout the process. Mechanical fragments, reclaimed components, and unexpected forms are brought together not only through intuition, but through deliberate composition and technical understanding.

A Growing World of Assemblage

Chunk of Magic continues to evolve through new materials, larger installations, functional art, custom commissions, and collaborative storytelling pieces built from the personal histories of others.

The long-term vision is simple:
to create work that inspires wonder, preserves memory, and transforms overlooked fragments of life into something lasting.

Chunk of Magic is built around transformation, memory, experimentation, and collaboration. Whether beginning with a personal object or a simple idea, each piece evolves through storytelling, imagination, and human connection.
