The shovel carries added significance, as it is the very same model of component that forms the body of its companion sculpture, Taurus, creating a subtle physical connection between the two works. Long, flowing horns, a Dyson vacuum brush tip, and football helmet eye sockets combine to create a distinctive presence that feels both mythical and deeply benevolent.

The sculpture's brass elements are finished with a verdigris patina, recalling the weathered surfaces of ancient artifacts and timeless mythology. Named after Apis, the revered Egyptian bull deity associated with strength, fertility, abundance, and prosperity, AP1S embodies the creative force that nurtures, builds, and provides.
